The Moscow Hotel was under renovation when I shared this in 2011, scheduled to reopen in 2012.

Alexander Gardens are to the right. Panned right a bit from this photo.

User comments:
– Engels, Marx, Lenin. The banner below says: “Long live marxism-leninism” lol
– Funny – a 55 Ford behind the lady in white – not too different from the Volgas
– Great photo.
– Big, and perfect composition !!!
– nice photo from a different time. !

This photo was featured on the cover of the single Moscow by The Half Light.

User comments:
– The lady in red in the right corner makes it!
– Hotel Moskva on Revolution Square – I was there in 1989 – there was a good Spanish restaurant. Hard to believe it was demolished, and replaced with a modernized replica of the original!!
– from «Соло для слона с оркестром» (1975)
– so much space… not like today…

Grandfather’s Photo on Album Cover

London band The Half Light asked to use my grandfather’s photo on the cover of their new single, “Moscow”. My copy arrived in the mail today. Check it out, they’re really good.
